Well, we survived! I took Claire to her doctor's appointment today all by myself...since Adam had to work! Dr Reed examined her...and told me she is perfectly healthy and developing normally! She weighs 12 pounds even! TWELVE POUNDS! No wonder she is feeling so heavy lately!
The nurse gave her five immunizations (in the form of shots in her chubby little thighs...HiB, Hepatitis B, Polio, Pneumococcal, and DTap) and one oral immunization (for Rotavirus). The nurse pinned down her legs while I held her arms down and kissed her forehead. I have never felt more sad for my little one! She screamed as loud as she could and turned BRIGHT red in her face! After she got bandaids, I picked her up and she took the oral immunization without any trouble at all! She was asleep in her carseat before we even left the office...thank God!
I gave her tylenol, as suggested, when we got home. She seems to be comfortable and was only fussy for a few minutes...so far, anyway! Right now she's asleep in her room... Maybe Mommy can catch a nap now too! I'll update more later!
Ohh...I almost forgot! Claire slept for 7 consecutive hours again last night! Yay for (pretty much) sleeping through the night! I'm so proud of her for growing and developing exactly as she's supposed to! And, I have to admit, I'm a little proud of Adam and I that we seem to be getting this right!!!
