Home Improvement Nightmare...phase II

Well, we're quickly finishing up with phase II of the home improvement nightmare that we have been living in. Jeff, Jake, and Adam repaired the plumbing and started the living room ceiling repairs last Friday night. Now our tub upstairs drains so fast it might actually suck the nailpolish off my toes (of course, that implies that I actually care enough to paint my toes!) And the floor work began...

Chad, DeeCee, and their daughters came up for the weekend and helped with the floors along with Jeff, Mona, and Jake again. ALL of the floors upstairs were sanded down to the natural wood and the baby's room got it's coat of stain...a lovely shade of light walnut. They are BEAUTIFUL! We're so excited and it isn't even done yet. Last night Adam sanded the trim in our bedroom...leaving only our closet and the hallway that need sanded up to the edges before he can apply the stain to those floors. Then, Chad is coming up this weekend to help Adam do the polyurethane over the stain to seal and protect. And then, we can reclaim our lives and put the furniture back into the rooms it belongs in!

Baby Allen is super excited to have a freshly painted and cleaned up nursery room. He or she jumps around in my belly ALL the time! Junior is most active when I'm at work, and usually when I'm right in the middle of some crucial patient care. Then he or she is really active when I'm trying to go to sleep...not always the best time to kung-fu fight with mommy's bladder...

Patients are beginning to notice and ask when I'm due...which is great! It still catches me off guard at times, though. And the occasional staff member of another unit will ask me or one of the other girls if I'm expecting...so the word is getting out there!

Pictures to come of the hardwood floors...I need to take some with the stain down in the daylight hours...thats when it looks the best! I'll try to do that today while I'm accomplishing all of the other billion things that I keep saying I'll get done!:) Stay warm...
