Adventures in life...and, man, are we in for some doozies!

We had a WONDERFUL weekend in Indy to celebrate Adam's birthday last Saturday and Sunday! Claire had a great time too...spending the night with Mamaw Carol and Grandpa Roy (they won the coin toss...next time, it's off to the South for some quality Allen family time!) We stayed downtown and saw a great theater production after eating dinner at St. Elmo's! It was awesome!!! We've decided to do these little trips for each of our birthdays and our anniversary! YAY!! And, while we missed Miss Claire, it was a much needed, de-stressing get away for us!

That tongue is always out these days!

Our household has been in a tumult since the day we brought Claire Madeline home (in a good way!) And now, we're really in for some true chaos! While she was at Mom's last weekend, she started pulling herself up to standing. Holy crap! My daughter stands up on her own. And now, she pulls to standing on EVERYTHING! Even in baby jail (see previous posts about the nature of baby jail...it is a Godsend!) she pulls to standing...oh my...oh my...

My newest favorite recipe! Strawberry Cheesecake Dessert (layers of cheesecake filing with pound cake and strawberries!) It was YUMMY!!! (and a huge hit with the guys!)

Claire has also been playing in baby jail so much, that she's taken to falling asleep right where she is lying! (I know Grandma Mona is going to love this...since Uncle Jake apparently did the exact same thing as a wee one!). Last night, she played and played and played, until she could play no more...and then passed out in the corner in a position that only a picture (or two) could adequately describe...

Finally, I'll leave you with the crime scene photos of what happens when an old man bags your groceries at Kroger. First of all, meat DOES NOT belong in the same bag as the babyfood...strike one! Strike two comes along in the form of missing the opportunity to double bag the previously mentioned heavy bag of babyfood...and meat. Lastly, don't forget to tell the hubby that the bag might rip under the enormous amount of weight...and remind him that the tile floor is brutal to tiny glass jars of pureed meals...oy... (At least they made for some interesting photos!)

Have a great week! Since Claire and I are both home today, hopefully some more photos will be posted this afternoon/evening! (But don' t come looking for me with pitchforks if I don't get them posted!)
