Well, Adam and I are lucky. We visited a home of a friend who was greatly affected by the great flood of 2008. He and his father are currently ripping out drywall, carpet, and other building materials room by room. (Apparently, flood insurance won't cover anything with mold on it...I hope more people know about this clause...) His home is destroyed, and he has lost everything...including a brand new Tahoe and his Harley. Ugh... On top of it all, the south area of town smells like a combination of dead fish and sewage...and there is still standing water in places. With 90+ degree heat and standing, stagnant water, it is inevitable that the next plague will be mosquitos. Adam and I had wet basement carpet that will have to be ripped up, but no actual water in the house...we have been very lucky. I can't imagine being this pregnant and loosing the contents of and use of our home.
The answer is still no...we are not yet parents. Apparently I have made a super comfortable home for our little one and she refuses to come out any earlier than she has to! I am REALLY uncomfortable most of the time. This morning, I woke up nauseated around 3am and didn't return to bed until 6am. It doesn't help that over the course of yesterday afternoon/evening, I developed a sore throat, cough, and otherwise nasty head and chest cold! Nothing like a nice upper respiratory infection to add to my list of complaints! Maybe we'll get to our 2:45pm doctor's appointment and find that we're ready to go (maybe dilated? maybe Dr. C. will feel sorry for me? who knows...) I'm hoping for anything at this point!
We'll try to do another tummy picture tonight...we've been busy little bees cleaning and organizing the house! Throw in jobs, school, and some time with our puppies/friends/family...and we can hardly catch our breath, we're so busy! Watch closely for updates!!
