Taking time for the small things

I hate having a dirty/messy house. It's really more of a fault than a good quality....mess tends to drive me nuts. Those who know me well know that it messes with my sort-of-OCD-ness! But, I realized recently, with the subtraction of a crib rail and the addition of a toddler rail, that time is moving quickly. And it's beyond my control. Sigh. She is growing bigger and bigger...becoming more independent and rapidly learning how to be her own person. Time will not wait. She will become a grown up before I even know what happened, I'm sure. But, the dust, dirty dishes, and laundry will all wait for me...for a time when she's sleeping!

Yesterday should have been a heavy housecleaning day. Adam was busy with work and an ArtStar gig...so Claire and I were on our own. We got showered and went to the grocery store. After we came home, had lunch, and hung out with Daddy, though, our productivity waned. And we chose to take time for some great playing! We went to Meadows Elementary School and played on the playground for about an hour. After we got home, the Andreas family asked us to come to Deming so Claire could play with her BEST FRIEND Liam....and of course, we accepted! So we played for another hour or so before coming home to crash. If Adam had been with us, yesterday would have been perfect. But, I would say yesterday was just about as perfect as a Saturday could be.

How about a flash back in time? I love comparing similar photos of her....look how much bigger she's gotten! And she looks so much more grown up in the latest one!:)
