Okay...now the word is out! We told our parents, one set at a time on Saturday. We started off at my parents house for lunch. We managed to sneak an ice cream cake with a special message into the deep freeze in the garage so no one new what we were up to. It said on the top... "7 (...to go) + 2 (...done) = 9 (6/23)
My mom just stared at it and my sister, Lindsay kept asking why her daughter's birthday was on the cake (our due date happens to be Kira's 3rd birthday!) After a few minutes, Mom finally got the message and the screaming commenced!!!
We told Adam's parents the same way but before we left their house for pizza for dinner. We walked in with an ice cream cake and shared the big news in their dining room. Jeff screamed "You're pregnant!?!?" and Mona instantly teared up!!!!
It was awesome to see everyone's reactions...they're all excited to be grandparents (for the first time for the Allens, and for the fifth time (technically) for the Hammonds.) As a catch, I'm calling my Dad in the morning to tell him at work. This weekend was so busy that we didn't make it that way...but I'll tell him in the am. Next step...telling the girls at work!
